THOMAS ENG
With a BA in International Business from California State University at San Francisco, Mr. Eng has established a diversified background in transportation. Having traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, Mr. Eng established offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Brunei.
ln 1977 Mr. Eng started a private warehousing and trucking company in Compton, California.
In 1981, Mr. Eng joined the City of Oakland delegation led by his Father in the forming of a Sister City relationship with Dalian, China. Mr. Eng was appointed Chair of Business Development.
In 1992 Mr. Eng was designated a consultant to The Ministry of Light Industry and The Ministry of Transportation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. immediately following the lifting of the
In 1994 Mr. Eng was awarded the Federal Express License rights for Myanmar (Burma).
In 1996 Mr. Eng was appointed exclusive representative for Maersk Line in Laos. T).
In 1997 Mr. Eng led the negotiations with Coca-Cola Asia for the bottling rights in Laos.
In 1999 as Chairman of Dalian Investment Associates Mr. Eng was appointed the exclusive distributor of Citgo Lubricants in the People's Republic of China.
Mr. Eng is the Chairman of Tai Gon Corporation, a closely-heldreal estate holding company established in 1921 by his late Grandfather. Mr. Eng is a director of Kung Wo Corporation, another closely held real estate holding company started in 1913 by his late Grandfather.
Mr. Eng is a partner in Fast Forward & Company, a provider of corporate and personal travel services. Among the company's clients are The City of Oakland and The Port of Oakland.
In his currnt role, Mr. Eng is the Chief Executive Officer of American L.E.D. Corp., the U.S. sales and service division of Beijing Leyard Electronic Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
